Welcome to J. H. Saylor
J. H. Saylor was established originally as Saylor Candy Company in 1947 by James Howard Saylor and his wife Lucile. When sugar remained in short supply after World War II, Howard saw an opportunity. He began buying available candy in the Chicago area and selling it to stores in and around his home community. Later, as neighborhood groceries gave way to the new convenience store industry, J. H. Saylor made the transition as well. Through the years inventory and programs have been continually expanded to maintain the company’s commitment as a full service industry supplier.
With a wide variety of products the company has developed many areas of expertise outside the traditional C-Store market. As such, J. H. Saylor is equally noted for its experience in food service disposables, seasonal food service, concession supply and equipment.
An association with leading manufacturers of institutional paper products also led the company to establish the Facility Maintenance Division. With the addition of a complete line of quality janitorial and maintenance products J. H. Saylor has become a trusted supplier and partner to school systems, churches, business and industry.
Today the company is managed by second generation sons, Jeff and Jim Saylor. For over 60 years the family’s commitment to fair and honest customer service has never wavered.
